Short term storage in Dubai
Most Dubai operators mean one month when they say short term. Look past the monthly rate: the cost that catches people is getting things in and out.
Short answer
For one to six months between homes, pick by what happens on the two ends of the stay, not by the headline rate. A low monthly price can vanish in one paid van trip.
Vachi's short-stay terms are the clearest published on those two ends: one month minimum, no deposit, free pickup and packing labour into storage from anywhere in Dubai, and AED 450 to 700 if you want delivery back. Cheaper figures exist. Keeper lists AED 190 for 1.2 m2 and Reef AED 300 for 12 sq ft, and Reef lists 50 sq ft at AED 900. Neither publishes a van price, and neither states VAT. Keeper Reef Storage

Traps with short stays
- Weekly prices with monthly minimums. StoreIT advertises lockers from AED 120 per week, and its FAQ sets a one-month minimum. On that wording you cannot rent for one week. StoreIT
- Paying a full month for less. GetSpace is explicit that the full monthly rate applies however short your use. GetSpace
- Notice you forgot about. Reef and StoreIT want 15 days. SafeStorage wants 7. A move-out date in the wrong week can cost another half month. Reef Storage StoreIT SafeStorage pricing
- Access by appointment. Easytruck needs 24 hours notice, inside 9am to 5pm. Boxit returns goods by delivery with at least 24 hours lead. That matters if you want a suit out on a Tuesday. Easytruck Boxit UAE
- Height. Half-height units cost less and hold boxes well, but they cannot take a wardrobe upright. Vachi's are 1.34 m.
Which situation are you in?
Between leases by a few weeks. A month minimum will be your real cost. Book the smallest size that fits and get the keys for the new place confirmed before arranging delivery back.
Renovating. You may want things back in stages, so favour walk-in access over delivery-only models. Check the hours.
Away for summer. Mostly clothes and bags? A cube or locker can be enough: Vachi's 15 sq ft cube is about 6 suitcases at AED 330, and Reef charges AED 75 per piece of luggage a month. Reef Storage

Questions
Can I store things in Dubai for just one week?
Few published terms allow it. EAZY says days, weeks or months, without a price. SafeStorage says two weeks on one page and one month on another. Easytruck charges by the day only after the first month. Vachi's minimum is one month. If you need one week, a month's rent is often the real price, so compare on that basis. What does the smallest useful unit cost?
For about 20 moving boxes, Vachi's 25 sq ft half-height unit is AED 450 a month with VAT, and Self Storage Solutions lists 3 m2 at 300 Dhs. They are different shapes: the first is 1.34 m high, and the second is advertised with a 3 m height, though the same page also says ceilings up to 2.4 m. Vachi price list Self Storage Solutions
How soon can I get in?
Vachi says pickup can be as soon as the same day, and that you reserve online with a card that is charged on move-in day, cancelling free before that. Most others do not publish a lead time, so ring them if your date is close.
Will I be charged VAT on top?
Vachi's prices include it, and SafeStorage says its prices exclude it. Most operators here do not say either way, so ask for the total with VAT before comparing. Vachi price list SafeStorage pricing
