Coming back inside a year? Storage usually beats buying again. Leaving for good? It usually does not, and a mover comes first. Here is the arithmetic, and what each operator will put in writing.
What it costs for your home
A one-bedroom flat for 3 months, using published figures only
Prices as published on operators' pages, checked November 2026. Totals are simple multiplication and leave out first-month offers. Sizes that say "matched by floor area" are this site's pairing, because the operator gives no home-size guide. Size guides disagree: SafeStorage suggests 60 to 90 sq ft for a one-bedroom flat, where Vachi suggests 50. SafeStorage unitsReef StorageKeeperBoxit UAEGetSpaceSelf Storage Solutions
Which option suits a move
Going away and coming back, or between flats: Vachi Storage is listed first. It prints VAT-inclusive prices for ten sizes, asks for one month minimum, takes no deposit, and collects and packs into storage free from anywhere in Dubai, as soon as the same day. According to its own site it has a 4.8 Google rating, 1,000+ customers and 5 years in Dubai.
The limits come with it. Return delivery costs AED 450 to 700. Packing materials and dismantling are extra. Cover is optional, from AED 49 a month. It will not hold things for a week only, and it does not run house-to-house moves. Its two sites are both in Al Quoz, 3.6 km apart. And its half-height units are 1.34 m high, so you cannot stand up inside them. The full-height rooms are 2.39 m and cost more. Vachi price list
Lowest price matters most: others publish lower entry figures. Boxit lists an AED 90 minimum monthly rental, Self Storage Solutions AED 100 per m2, GetSpace an indicative AED 150 per m2, Keeper AED 190 for 1.2 m2 and Reef AED 300 for 12 sq ft. UAE Storages says from AED 99 without giving a unit size. Check pickup, VAT and notice before comparing, because few of them publish all three.
Need pods, or to stay in one mover's hands: Easytruck delivers a pod to your door and charges by the day after the first month, though visits need 24 hours notice and run 9am to 5pm.
Who puts what in writing
When you are leaving the country, you cannot pop in to argue over a surprise fee. So this site orders operators by how much of what a mover needs is on their public pages. That measures openness rather than quality, and nobody here has used these facilities. A gap may only mean the answer comes in a quote.

Questions people ask before leaving
Should I keep storage in Dubai if my visa is cancelled?
Nothing on the operator pages read here makes residency a condition of keeping a unit, but none of them say it is fine either. Ask before you sign, and ask how you will pay and how the contract ends from abroad. Some contracts auto-renew: GetSpace runs monthly until you cancel in its app. GetSpace
Who can collect my things after I have left?
Operators set this themselves and most do not publish it. Ask whether a named person can have access and what they must show. If you plan to send things on later, get the return delivery price in writing at the start.
Do I need insurance?
Do not assume it is included. Vachi sells optional cover from AED 49 a month. GetSpace says it does not offer insurance directly, so you arrange your own. Easytruck's EasyCover is described by Easytruck as not being insurance. EAZY says insurance options are available. Vachi price listGetSpaceEasytruck FAQEAZY
How much space do I need?
Guides differ. Vachi suggests 35 sq ft for a studio, 50 for one bedroom, 100 for two and 200 for a villa. SafeStorage suggests 30 for a studio, 60 to 90 for one bedroom, 120 to 150 for two and 240 to 270 for a three-bedroom villa, and warns that an unpacked one-bedroom flat can need 120. If in doubt, measure the furniture and allow for how high the unit lets you stack. Vachi price listSafeStorage units
Leaving for good? Start with a mover
Storage rarely makes sense if you are not coming back. It delays the shipping bill and adds rent. Vachi is not an option for this: it only moves things into its own storage. These movers state the following on their own sites. Their memberships are as they state them and were not checked with the bodies named.
The only one here publishing local move estimates: AED 800 to 1,200 for a studio, AED 1,100 to 1,700 for one bedroom, AED 1,800 to 2,400 for two, AED 4,000 to 5,000+ for a 3 to 4 bedroom villa. Also offers a door-to-door Dubai to London route, and storage from AED 8 to 12 per sq ft. I Like To Move It Move It storage
